BCB4 Day 2

The best part of barcampbangalore, is the way they welcome the first-timers. This is the first time I’m in a barcamp. The way the people encourage and show their passion in sharing the ideas, is simply awesome. I talked on Search Engine Optimization in AJAX Applications, in BangAJAX collective.

Thats Balaji telling me about his SLR camera. Any kind of stupid doubt is encouraged in this geek’s conclave. Yeah, i asked a stupid question to Balaji.

Shutterbugs(Photocollective) got together in sharing all the camera-tricks. It was fun meeting like-minded people. 2 Days of pure exhilaration.

Hats off to the all the organizers esp Arun & Jace for organizing such a wonderful event!

PS:I’m thinking of shifting to Wordpress

Firefox portable & More

Have you been frustrated about that old browsing centre which runs on Windows 9x?
How many times Have you cursed the old browsing-centres for not having firefox?

I have!

Portableapps.com gives you Portable Firefox,

Not just that, it has everything from Openoffice to 7-zip, in portable format. So, whats great about a portable format? Portable formate doesn’t need an administrator account to install the software. You can install the software in a pen-drive and just plug it in to use it.

More than that, Portable apps gives you a complete suite, which on installation also gives you a custom menu bar !

PS: Did you know? Mozilla firefox uses SQLite as a database engine to store all the bookmarks!

Say "NIT Trichy"

After the great mix-up between NIIT and NITT in most of the newspapers, here , here and here, the alumni association of our college (alumni association) has decided to use “NIT, Trichy” instead of NITT , NIT-T .

So, if you are an NIT Trichy student, alumni please use “NIT, Trichy” ! Or be mixed up along with NIIT guys :D . Also read vikram’s post on this topic.

PS: Yes, the boy-who-lived (the fat pay guy) is boxy (aka) bhaskar who actually chucked it and is going to Pennstate :)
