Earlier, i was using flickr quite frequently. Recently flickr
announced that if you are a free user, you could only view only 200 of
your latest photos, which is disappointing. I had to download all my
photos back to my hard-drive, which turned out to be irritating as
flickr doesn’t have any downloading tool.
Yesterday, I mailed Amit Agarwal asking for a
tool which could mass-download flickr images. If you didn’t know, amit is India’s top-tech blogger. His blogs are really interesting, not like the usual tech blogs which discuss some crap code that you dont understand. Amit suggested Downloadr which is for Windows. Since I had to download everything,
- First add all your images in a set
- Remove all images with permission private
- Download the flickr downloader script
- A few changes in the script will help you to list out all the
images from flickr.
- Use DownThemAll (downthemall.net), a firefox plugin to download all
the images. (Btw, DownThemAll is damn good download manager)
A few other Flickr downloaders
- http://greggman.com/pages/flickrdown.htm
- http://flickrslideshow.fateback.com/
- I got a page in which I gave my username and it returned a shell
script with all wgets of the images, forgot the link though.
